About NWC
The NursesWeCare story started with several colleagues who shared a common goal of inspiring, educating, and imparting our knowledge and experience. Our professional relationship grew, and we collaborated to create NursesWeCare. What is the purpose? It is to guide, motivate, and inspire because we believe that contributing in small ways can foster great care.

Mission
Our
Values
At NursesWeCare, our values are the foundation of everything we do. They guide our decisions, shape our actions, and continuously inspire us to fulfill our purpose with excellence and compassion:
Care
We believe that quality care begins with genuine attention and responsiveness to the unique needs of every person. Our approach is rooted in clinical excellence and personal connection, ensuring that each service we provide is thoughtful, respectful, and patient-centred.
Compassion
Compassion is at the heart of everything we do. We strive to understand and uplift those we serve—offering not just healthcare but heartfelt support. By listening, empathizing, and showing kindness in every interaction, we create a safe and healing environment for all.
Innovation
We are forward-thinkers dedicated to continuous improvement. By embracing new ideas, technology, and evidence-based practices. Our goal is to stay ahead—so we can serve better, smarter, and with greater impact.
At NursesWeCare, we are proud to offer complimentary wellness screenings and evidence-informed health education as part of our commitment to promoting community well-being. Led by Registered Nurses licensed in Ontario, our wellness outreach aligns with the RN scope of practice under the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and supports the public health goals of early detection, prevention, and education.
NursesWeCare offers free, non-diagnostic wellness screenings and community health education led by Registered Nurses in Ontario. This initiative promotes early awareness of health risks and empowers individuals with evidence-based lifestyle guidance. Services are voluntary, confidential, and comply with the scope of practice outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
Our services include:
-
Blood Pressure Monitoring for awareness of cardiovascular health.
-
Blood Glucose Screening (as appropriate, with client consent) to support diabetes education and prevention.
-
Lifestyle & Health Education tailored to individual needs — including nutrition guidance, risk factor awareness, and navigating care options.
These services are non-diagnostic, voluntary, and provided in safe, accessible environments such as the NursesWeCare Office & Wellness Clinic, pop-up clinics, schools, and community events. All participants receive verbal education or take-home materials to help them make informed health decisions.
Note: These screenings are intended for general wellness and are not a substitute for medical diagnosis or physician consultation. Referrals are provided when necessary based on screening results.

Joy Arlene Sorel, NP, PMHNP
My name is Joy Arlene Sorel, a Psych NP in New York City. I graduated from Stony Brook University, my NP school.
I started my journey in psychiatric nursing in December 2014 as a Registered Nurse in a children and adolescents unit with behavioral issues. It was a transition for me as I did not think I would adjust well in this field/unit. Not only did I enjoy working with these populations, but I fell in love with psychiatric nursing.
I have expanded my knowledge and begun to work with adults with severe mental illness in Manhattan, New York, which allows me to use clinical experiences and knowledge to provide the best treatment options for these individuals.

Keiran Usher, RPN
I'm Keiran Usher, and my nursing career kicked off in 2020 amidst the global health crisis. This journey has allowed me to explore the often chaotic healthcare landscape across various sectors like mental health, hospitals, long-term care, case management, and public health.
Reflecting on my experiences within the system has highlighted the inherent worth of our profession, which we sometimes overlook. Nurses are pivotal in fostering communication not just with patients but also with their families and fellow healthcare workers, establishing a robust foundation of trust and a strong work ethic. This foundation naturally positions us as excellent candidates for leadership roles in business, characterized by authenticity and ethics. Yet, traditionally, we are trained to channel our efforts into advancing others' visions and enterprises.
My current aim is to empower others to recognize and pursue their own aspirations and latent potentials. While personal growth is achievable in solitude, it is undoubtedly enhanced through teamwork.
